Public lectures
What are they?
The Australian National University Public Lecture Series is part of our commitment to community outreach. Public lectures make ANU accessible and available to the local ACT and regional community by hosting some of the world’s top academics, scholars, public figures, artists and theorists.
Each year over 10,000 people attend ANU Public Lectures on campus and thousands more access the series through podcasts made available via the ANU website. The series operates as a platform from which new research, innovation and discoveries can be launched into the public arena. It is an opportunity for ANU to engage with government, business and the public to inform and educate the community through leading open discussion of issues that confront the nation, the region and the world. The ANU Public Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
How do I attend?
ANU hosts a number of events each day which are open to the public. A full list of these is available on the ANU Events Billboard at http://billboard.anu.edu.au/events.asp.
